Why we built field auto-detection
If you have ever set up an e-signature template, you know the ritual: open the document, drag a signature box here, a date field there, a name field somewhere else, repeat for every variation. It is tedious, it is error-prone, and it has to be redone every time the document changes.
We kept asking a simple question: the document already shows where a person needs to sign, date, and fill in details — why are we, the humans, the ones telling the software where those fields are?
The pre-signature problem nobody automates
The category has moved its AI investment to the post-signature side — analyzing agreements after they are signed. The step before signing, getting a blank document to a complete one, is still manual. That is the drudgery AppliFlo eliminates.
Field auto-detection reads any PDF or DOCX you upload and identifies the fillable fields for you. No template to build, no fields to drag. Today it is built on a proven document-intelligence baseline; an AppliFlo-owned model trained on the documents our users actually send is on the roadmap.
What it unlocks
Once the fields are detected, they can be filled from your data — so the document arrives at the signer mostly complete. That is the whole point: stop filling out forms, and let the form fill itself.
